We’ve all been there. You navigate to the 'Book Now' button, ready for smooth skin, and then you see the list: Bikini Wax, Extended Bikini, Brazilian Wax.
You pause. The differences seem obvious, but are they? What exactly is removed in each session? If you are a first-timer, or just switching styles, booking the wrong service can cause confusion (and potentially change the timing of your appointment).
At our Dundee studio, we want your entire experience—including booking—to be stress-free.
Let’s break down the definitions and clarify the lines, so you can book with total confidence.

Defining the line
The primary difference between these three standard services is coverage area. To help you visualize the terminology, imagine wearing a classic, high-cut swimsuit or a set of standard matching underwear.
Here is what is included in each service:
Service | Best for | What it usually removes | What it usually leaves |
Classic Bikini Wax | A simple cleanup | Hair outside the underwear or swimsuit line | Most hair on the front, labia area, and back |
Extended Bikini Wax | More shaping without full removal | More hair along the sides and top, often a closer inner cleanup | Labia area and back are usually not included |
Brazilian Wax | Maximum removal or detailed shaping | Hair from the front, labia area, and back | Nothing, or a small strip, triangle, or other shape if preferred |
The key question is not “Which one sounds best?” It’s how much hair do you want removed, and from where?
What a classic bikini wax includes
The Scope: This is our tidiest option. The Classic Bikini removes hair outside the line of a standard bikini bottom (the creases of the leg and just outside the hip). It does not remove hair from the labia or the back. Think of it as a "cleanup" that ensures nothing peeks out from your swimsuit.
Who it's for: Perfect for beginners, or those who simply want a groomed, natural look for pool days.
If you’re thinking, “I just don’t want anything showing outside my swimsuit,” book the classic bikini.
What an extended bikini wax includes
The Scope: The Extended Bikini is the intermediate option. It takes the classic service inward, removing hair further inside the bikini line. It generally clears the top (the triangle area) and higher up the hip. Crucially, it usually includes removing hair from the labia, leaving a smooth result on the sides and underneath. It typically does not remove hair from the very back/between the buttocks (sometimes called the 'bum strip').
Who it's for: Ideal for clients who wear G-string style underwear or high-cut swimsuits and need more than just the sides cleared, but aren't ready for full removal.
This is the middle ground. It’s for someone who wants more than a basic edge cleanup but does not want a full Brazilian.

What a Brazilian wax includes
The Scope: This is the most popular service for those seeking maximum smoothness. A Brazilian removes all hair from the entire pubic region, front to back. This includes the top triangle, the labia, and the area between the buttocks (the 'bum strip' is included in this service by default). It leaves you completely smooth.
Who it's for: Clients who want to eliminate all maintenance and prefer a totally hair-free result.
A Few FAQs To Help You Decide
Can I customize? Absolutely. While the services above are standardized, you are in charge. If you book a Brazilian but want to leave a small triangle or 'landing strip' on top, just let your esthetician know! We define the terms so we have a common starting point, but the final look is always your choice.
What about pain? Pain tolerance is personal, but generally, the Brazilian may feel more intense initially because it removes hair from more sensitive areas (like the labia). However, we take every step to ensure your comfort, including using high-quality hard wax and expert technique.
How often should I book? We recommend booking your maintenance appointments every 4 to 6 weeks, depending on how quickly your hair grows back. Consistency is key to achieving that smooth result.

If you are still unsure which service is right for you, don’t hesitate to ask! You can always call or message the studio before you book, and we will guide you. Otherwise, select the coverage that fits your needs and get ready to feel smooth.
