  • What services do you offer?
Some common therapies: Facial: A facial is the most popular treatment performed by estheticians. It is a good way for your therapist to get a good understanding of your skin prior to suggesting more aggressive treatments. A facial generally includes makeup removal and skin cleansing, exfoliation by mechanical, enzymatic or chemical means, steaming, extractions, facial massage, a treatment mask, serum/moisturizer and sunblock. For most people, facials can be scheduled every four weeks, although your therapist may recommend a different schedule based on your individual needs. Exfoliation: The removal of dead skin cells manually (scrubbing, brushing, or using a system such as microdermabrasion), with a chemical peel (a product that causes dead skin cells to shed) or with an enzymatic product that digests dead skin cells. Chemical peel: An exfoliation process, very effective in treating a large range of skin concerns such as aging, sun damage, acne, mild scarring, improving overall skin brightness and evening skin tone. Peels can be light, moderate or deep. Light peels require no down time from work or normal activities. Moderate peels may require a day or two of down time, and deep peels can require a week or more to allow the skin to fully heal. Estheticians who are not working in a medical setting perform light to moderate peels only. Deep peels are performed by a physican, or under a physician's supervision, for your safety. Microdermabrasion: The process of resurfacing the skin using a machine that sands the skin's epidermal (outer) layer, using either a wand tipped with crushed diamonds, or a spray of special crystals which are then suctioned back up along with the dead skin cells. It can be very helpful in improving skin texture, fine lines and the effectiveness of home care product penetration. Extraction: This is the process of deep cleansing the pores, either manually (using gloved hands and cotton or tissue around the fingers, with gentle pressure to remove the impacted pore) or using a metal extraction implement designed to clear blocked pores. This can also include the use of a lancet (a small sharp blade to lift the dead cells of the skin prior to extraction). Waxing: Waxing removes unwanted hair at the root. There are two different types of waxes: hard and soft. Soft wax is applied warm to the skin in a thin layer. Cloth strips are then applied to the warm wax, and quickly pulled off. This method can also be used on larger areas of the body such as the legs, back or chest. Hard wax is used without cloth strips. It is applied warm, in a thicker layer, allowed to dry and then removed quickly. Hard wax is less irritating to sensitive skin and is excellent for the bikini, underarm and facial areas.
  • Visiting an Esthetician?
It is always a good idea to schedule a consultation appointment prior to your first treatment, especially if you are new to esthetic treatments. This gives you and your therapist a chance to discuss your goals and expectations for the first visit, and long term goals for the future. During a consultation, your therapist will go over an extensive intake form, and most likely do a cleansing of the skin followed by a detailed skin analysis. This will give your therapist the information she/he needs to create an individualized treatment plan, both for a series of professional treatments and recommendations for products you can use at home.

  • Why should I see an Esthetician?
Esthetics is the application of various treatments to the skin, to maintain its health and vitality. Estheticians are trained in skin wellness, helping their clients balance oil and moisture content and achieve a healthy, youthful complexion. As well as various facial treatments (described in more detail below), they commonly also perform body treatments such as salt or sugar scrubs, moisturizing or slenderizing body wraps, hair removal techniques such as waxing or threading, and hand/foot treatments to rejuvenate the skin. A variety of treatments and products are used to protect skin from environmental hazards and combat fine lines, wrinkles, and a dull, uneven skin tone. Estheticians are also skilled in managing conditions such as acne, rosacea, eczema, and dry skin, to name just a few. And finally, skin care treatments are wonderfully relaxing and rejuvenating. If smooth, healthy skin is your goal, visiting a skin care professional can benefit you.
  • Why do I need a facial?
Facials are an essential part of any beauty routine. They help to cleanse, exfoliate, and hydrate the skin, leaving it looking and feeling refreshed. Facials can also help to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and improve the overall texture and tone of the skin. Additionally, facials can help to unclog pores, reduce acne, and soothe sensitive skin.
  • What can I expect from a facial?
Facials are generally very relaxing and soothing. Your esthetician will explain to you what the treatment steps will be. Be sure to communicate with your esthetician during the facial if any product burns, itches, or if you need anything or have any questions. Otherwise, just lie back and enjoy the experience. A basic facial generally includes the following steps: Makeup removal and cleansing of the skin. Skin analysis. Exfoliation by mechanical, enzymatic or chemical means. Massage of the face and neck, to aid in relaxation and stimulate blood and oxygen flow to the skin. Extraction of blackheads and other impurities, either manually (using gloved hands and cotton or tissue around the fingers with gentle pressure to remove the impacted pore) or using a metal extraction implement designed to clear blocked pores. This can also include the use of a lancet (a small, sharp blade to lift the dead cells of the skin prior to extraction). Application of products targeted to your skin type (dry, oily, mixed, sensitive, or mature).
  • What should I do to prepare for my facial?
What should I do to prepare for my facial? To prepare for your facial at Sexy Visage, it is recommended that you come to the salon makeup-free. However, if you prefer to have makeup on, our estheticians will perform a thorough cleansing to remove any impurities before beginning the facial treatment. It is also important to arrive on time for your appointment to ensure that you have enough time to relax and enjoy the full benefits of your facial. It's also a good idea to avoid using any exfoliating products for at least 48 hours before your appointment, as they can make your skin more sensitive. If you have any concerns or questions about preparing for your facial, please feel free to contact us beforehand.
  • Will the facial hurt or be uncomfortable?
At Sexy Visage, we pride ourselves on providing a relaxing and comfortable spa experience. Our facials are designed to be soothing and rejuvenating, and we use gentle techniques and high-quality products to minimize discomfort. However, every person's skin is different, so some may experience slight discomfort or sensitivity during the facial. If this happens, please let our estheticians know and they will adjust the treatment accordingly. Overall, we strive to ensure that our clients leave feeling refreshed and satisfied with their facial experience.
  • How soon will I see results from my facial?
Results from facials can vary depending on the type of facial you receive and your skin type. Some facials may provide immediate results such as a more radiant glow, while others may take multiple sessions to see significant improvements.
  • What are the long term benefits of getting a facial?
Here are some of the benefits of getting regular facials: 1. Prevents premature aging: Facials help to remove dead skin cells, unclog pores, and increase circulation, which in turn can help prevent premature aging and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. 2. Improves skin tone and texture: Facials can help improve skin texture and tone, leaving your skin looking smoother and more radiant. 3. Reduces acne and blemishes: Facials can help reduce acne and blemishes by removing excess oil and dirt from your pores, and by exfoliating dead skin cells that can clog pores. 4. Boosts hydration: Facials can help boost hydration in your skin, leaving it feeling soft and supple. Overall, getting regular facials can help improve the health and appearance of your skin, leaving you looking and feeling your best.
  • How often should I get a facial?
We generally recommend getting a facial every month to maintain healthy and glowing skin. However, if you are seeking corrective services for specific skin issues, we recommend getting a facial every two weeks. Our experienced estheticians will assess your skin and recommend the best frequency for your individual needs.
  • If I get a facial, do I have to use professional products?
No, you don't have to use professional products after getting a facial at Sexy Visage. However, we highly recommend using professional-grade products to maintain the results of your facial. If you choose to use over-the-counter products, it's essential to talk to your esthetician about the ingredients in those products. Many products from drug stores or beauty counters contain ingredients that can cause or contribute to skin issues such as dryness, oiliness, acne breakouts, and redness. Many of the products we used on your skin during your facial we have available for purchase. Our estheticians can recommend the best products for your skin type and address any concerns you may have.
  • Should I have a facial if I'm pregnant?
Yes, you can! We at Sexy Visage understand that pregnancy is a special time and we have several products that are mommy-to-be safe. Our trained estheticians will customize your facial treatment to address any skin concerns you may have during this time. It is important to inform your esthetician if you are pregnant, so they can select the appropriate products for your skin. We want to ensure that you have a relaxing and safe experience at our spa.
  • Should I have a facial if I have sensitive skin?
Yes, you can still have a facial even if you have sensitive skin. Our estheticians are trained to provide customized treatments for all skin types, including sensitive skin. In fact, having a facial can help treat any underlying skin conditions that you may have, such as redness, dryness, or acne
  • What is a Bio-Therapeutic Facial?
This treatment is a non-invasive and painless procedure that combines ultrasonic technology with a skin scrubber to deeply cleanse, exfoliate, and hydrate your skin. The ultrasonic technology uses sound waves to penetrate the skin's surface and stimulate collagen production. This helps to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and improve skin texture and tone. The skin scrubber uses a gentle vibration to remove dead skin cells, dirt, and oil from the skin's surface. This helps to unclog pores and promote the absorption of skincare products. It's important to note that not everyone is a candidate for the Bio-Therapeutic Facial. If you are pregnant or nursing, have a pacemaker, cancer, heart conditions, blood disorders, severe infection, circulation disorders, or diabetes, we cannot perform this treatment on you. We recommend consulting with your doctor if you have any concerns about whether this treatment is safe for you.
  • What is a chemical peel?
A chemical peel is a cosmetic treatment that uses a chemical solution to exfoliate and peel off the outer layer of skin. This treatment is designed to improve the appearance of the skin by reducing fine lines, wrinkles, age spots, and acne scars. Chemical peels can be performed on the face, neck, and hands and can be customized to suit individual skin types and concerns.
  • How do I preparer for a chemical peel?
At Sexy Visage, we have a few guidelines to help you prepare for your chemical peel: Consultation: Before scheduling your chemical peel, we recommend booking a consultation with our esthetician. During your consultation, we will assess your skin type, discuss your concerns and goals, and recommend the best type of chemical peel for your skin. Skincare kit: We provide all our clients with a skincare kit containing products that will help repair and protect your skin barrier. This kit is designed to prepare your skin for the chemical peel and to maintain the results afterward. Introductory facials: If you are new to chemical peels, we recommend starting with 2-3 introductory facials with enzymes. These facials will help your skin get used to the exfoliation process and prepare it for the chemical peel. Avoid sun exposure: It is essential to avoid sun exposure for at least two weeks before your chemical peel. This will help prevent any unwanted side effects, such as hyperpigmentation. Avoid certain skincare products: Before your chemical peel, it is important to avoid using retinoids, acids, and other exfoliating products for at least one week By following these guidelines, you can ensure that your skin is well-prepared for the chemical peel and that you achieve the best possible results.
  • What can I expect from a chemical peel?
After the peel After most peels, the skin will be pink to red, and look shiny and tight. It is vital to apply sunscreen of SFP 30 or greater to the skin for the next 48 hours, minimum. You must also stay out of the sun, as your skin will be very sensitive to UV rays and could be damaged by sun exposure. The skin will begin to flake or peel within 2–3 days after the treatment, unless you had a lactic acid peel—these encourage moisture retention and may not produce any actual peeling. Sun-damaged areas of your skin will appear darker at first, then will lighten. This is normal. Deeper peels can produce peeling for a week or more. To assist in removing the flaking skin, an enzyme peel or light microdermabrasion treatment is sometimes scheduled a week or so after the initial peel. For maximum results, a series of peels is usually recommended, and may be necessary for treating challenging issues such as hyperpigmentation. Home care after a chemical peel Your esthetician will recommend healing products to use for the week or two following your peel. These will soothe and nourish your skin, and aid in its recovery. Usually it is best to avoid makeup during this time, to allow the skin to heal and function without interference. However, if you must wear makeup, mineral makeup will not adversely affect the skin.
  • What is a Galvanic Facial?
Galvanic Facial is a non-invasive treatment that uses a small device to apply a low-level electrical current to the skin. This current helps to improve the penetration of skincare products into the deeper layers of the skin, resulting in a more effective treatment. The treatment is painless and can be customized to suit different skin types and concerns, such as acne, fine lines, and hyperpigmentation. The benefits of a Galvanic Facial include improved skin texture, increased hydration, and a brighter, more youthful complexion. Please note: If you are pregnant or nursing, have a pacemaker, cancer, heart conditions, blood disorders, severe infection, circulation disorders, or diabetes, we cannot perform this treatment on you. We recommend consulting with your doctor if you have any concerns about whether this treatment is safe for you.
  • What can I expect from my Galvanic Facial?
You can expect to feel a mild tingling sensation during the treatment, but it is completely painless. After the treatment, your skin will look and feel smoother, firmer, and more radiant. You may also notice a reduction in fine lines and wrinkles, and an overall improvement in the tone and texture of your skin. We recommend scheduling a Galvanic Facial every 4-6 weeks to maintain the best results.
  • What is Microdermabrasion?
Microdermabrasion is a non-invasive, cosmetic procedure that uses a machine to gently exfoliate and remove the outermost layer of dead skin cells from the face. The treatment helps to improve the texture and appearance of the skin by reducing the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and age spots, as well as improving the overall tone and brightness of the skin. Microdermabrasion is safe for all skin types and can be performed in a spa or medical office setting. At Sexy Visage, we offer Microdermabrasion as part of our comprehensive spa services to help you achieve beautiful, glowing skin.
  • What can I expect from my Microdermabrasion Facial?
During your session at Sexy Visage, your esthetician will cleanse and prepare your skin for the treatment, then use the wand to buff away dead skin cells. After the treatment, your skin will feel smoother, softer, and more radiant. You may experience some mild redness or sensitivity after the treatment, but this should subside within a few hours. We recommend avoiding sun exposure and applying sunscreen regularly in the days following your treatment to protect your newly resurfaced skin.
  • What is a Dermaplaning Facial?
A Dermaplaning Facial is a non-invasive skin treatment that exfoliates and removes dead skin cells and vellus hair (peach fuzz) from the face using a surgical blade. This treatment is great for improving the texture and tone of the skin, reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and allowing for better absorption of skincare products. It is safe for all skin types and has no downtime.
  • Is Dermaplaning painful?
No, Dermaplaning is entirely painless. It involves a gentle scraping motion across the skin's surface using a sterile, medical-grade blade. While there may be some minor risks of cuts on the skin, our trained professionals at Sexy Visage use light pressure to minimize any potential discomfort.
  • Will dermaplaning make the hair on my face grow back thicker and darker?
No. There are different types of hair that grow on the body; vellus hair and terminal hair. Vellus hair is found on most areas of the body except palms, soles, lips and genital areas, whereas terminal hairs are found on the scalp, underarms and pubic region. The soft and fine vellus hair grows back at the same rate and texture.
  • What are the difference between Microdermabrasion and Dermaplaning?
Both options are a form of physical exfoliation. Dermaplaning removes vellus hair (peach fuzz) and dead skin cells from the skin, microdermabrasion also exfoliate the surface of the skin, but not as thoroughly or deeply as dermaplaning does.
  • What is a Red Carpet 24K Facial?
A Red Carpet 24K Facial is a luxurious facial treatment that uses 24K gold-infused products to help rejuvenate and revitalize the skin. This facial is designed to give you a glowing, radiant complexion, just like the celebrities on the red carpet. The facial begins with a deep cleansing and exfoliation, followed by a relaxing massage to help improve circulation and lymphatic drainage. The 24K gold-infused products are then applied to the skin, helping to hydrate, plump, and firm the skin. The final step of the facial is a soothing and hydrating mask, leaving your skin feeling soft, smooth, and radiant. This facial is perfect if you are a bride to be as it gives glowing skin that lasts for 7-14 days.
  • What is the ice infusion facial?
The ice infusion facial is a unique facial treatment offered at Sexy Visage that involves using ice cubes to infuse the skin with nutrients and promote circulation. The facial first beings by bringing blood to the surface of the skin with a hot hammer. Then we cool off the skin with ice cubes that are made with a blend of natural ingredients, such as green tea and aloe vera, and are gently massaged onto the face to help reduce inflammation and puffiness, while also tightening the skin and leaving it looking refreshed and rejuvenated. This treatment is perfect for those who want to give their skin a quick pick-me-up, or for those who have acne, sensitive skin and want a gentle yet effective facial option.
  • How do I prep my skin for a spray tan
PLEASE DO NOT SHOWER RIGHT BEFORE YOUR SPRAY TAN AS YOUR SKIN WILL REMAIN HYDRATED 💦 FROM THE SHOWER AND WILL NOT GIVE THE BEST RESULTS. Shave, shower and exfoliate the night before your tanning appointment. We have many services that allow you to exfoliate prior to your appointment. Showering a minimum of 4 hours before your session is acceptable if you cannot do it the evening before. Coming right from the gym is NOT recommended as the sweat will create a barrier. Waxing and spa services (pedicure, massage, facial) should be done a minimum of 2 days before your spray tan as the oils can leave a barrier. Do not use deodorant, makeup, perfume, or moisturizers (including the moisture strip on a razor) the day of your tanning session. Bring loose fitting clothing and flip flops. (Looser the better!) You may tan in the undergarment of your choice (preferably a dark color). Ladies may tan topless, nude, bathing suits and underwear also work well. If you do not have bottoms. We will provide if available. Pull hair back high and tight on top of your head if possible.
  • What should I do after my spray tan?
Wear loose clothing till after you rinse. Wearing a bra is NOT recommended. It is very IMPORTANT that you rinse in the timeframe I provide for you in order to get the best results. Waiting longer or earlier can adversely affect the color of the tan, making it too light or to dark. ONLY rinse with water- NO soap or any other product until 8 hours after your session. Make sure your face and ears are rinsed as well. You may see color wash off during your first shower which is normal as it is just the cosmetic bronzer washing off. Do not scrub, use loofahs or washcloths at the time of the rinse. When you come out of the rinse, you will think the color disappeared, but NO WORRIES as it takes 8 hours developing time. The convenience of not having to sleep in the solution is so nice and you are able to wear whatever you want after that rinse. Avoid any activity that will result in sweating. Refrain from swimming and getting wet. Working out is NOT recommended immediately after your spray tan. Please do not allow your pet to lick or jump on you. 8 hours after your spray tan, you may take a REGULAR shower. My aftercare products are recommended for use. No moisturizers or creams until AFTER your first real shower. Apply my recommended body lotion or butter and/or tan extender generously post shower. Application twice daily is recommended for optimal results. Spa Treatments are not recommended after your airbrush tan (ex: massage, facial, pedicure). Dove products are NOT recommended. Swimming will fade your tan.
  • What is waxing?
Waxing is the most common method of hair removal in spas today. Hair on any part of the body or face can be waxed. Warm wax is applied to the area and then removed, bringing the hair with it. There are two types of wax: hard and soft. Hard wax, which is easier on delicate skin, is often used on the face, underarms, and bikini area. Soft wax is used on the face, legs, arms, back, and chest. Waxing reduces hair growth when performed at regular 30-day intervals. Because waxing pulls the hair out by the root, it grows back softer, finer, and thinner. The more you wax, the less hair grows back. Waxing should not be performed if you have particularly sensitive skin, because it can pull off a couple of layers of skin cells along with the hair. Waxing can cause tenderness and swelling. In addition, some medications will cause the skin to react badly to waxing. Don’t wax if you’re taking Retin-A, Accutane, or any type of acne prescription. Preparing for treatment Let the hair grow out to at least 1/8" above the skin. If hairs are too short, the wax won’t adhere strongly enough to pull them out. Refrain from taking a shower or bath before the treatment. Soaking the hair will soften it, allowing it to break more easily and making waxing less effective. Do not apply lotion to the skin before your waxing session.
  • Does waxing hurt?
Waxing does involve some level of discomfort as hair is being removed from the skin. However, at Sexy Visage, we use high-quality waxes and techniques that minimize discomfort as much as possible. Our estheticians are trained to work quickly and efficiently, reducing any potential pain.
  • What's the difference between hard and soft wax?
Hard wax is a type of wax used for hair removal that is applied to the skin and then removed without the need for a strip. Unlike soft wax, which is applied in a thin layer and then removed with a strip, hard wax hardens as it cools and is then easily peeled off from the skin. Hard wax is typically used for sensitive areas of the body, such as the bikini area, underarms, and face, as it is less painful and less likely to cause irritation or damage to the skin. At Sexy Visage, we use high-quality hard wax to ensure a comfortable and effective hair removal experience for our clients.
  • What should I wear to my wax appointment?
Wear loose clothing to your appointment so you'll be comfy afterwards. For the rest of the day, you should steer clear of applying too much friction from tight-fitting clothing or exercise, lest you may wind up with even more irritation or ingrown hair in the waxed area
  • How often do I need to wax?
The duration of waxing results varies from person to person, but typically lasts between 3 to 6 weeks. Factors such as hair growth rate, skin type, and the area of the body being waxed can influence how long the results last. Additionally, regular waxing can help to slow down hair growth and extend the time between appointments.
  • Can I wax on my period?
Yes, you can wax on your period, but we recommend that you avoid it. During your menstrual cycle, your body is more sensitive due to hormonal changes, which can make waxing more painful than usual. Additionally, there is a higher risk of infection during your period due to the natural shedding of the uterine lining. We suggest waiting until after your period to schedule your waxing appointment for optimal comfort and safety. If you do choose to wax during your period, please let our esthetician know so that she can take extra precautions to ensure your safety and comfort.
  • Can I get a wax while I'm pregnant?
Yes, you can get a wax while pregnant. However, it is recommended that you consult with your physician before booking an appointment. It is important to note that your skin may be more sensitive during pregnancy, so please inform your esthetician of your pregnancy before the waxing session.
  • What can I expect from my Brazilian or Bikini wax appointment?
At your Brazilian wax appointment with Sexy Visage, you can expect a professional and comfortable experience. Our trained estheticians will make sure you feel at ease throughout the process. You will be asked to remove your clothes from the waist down and lie on a comfortable bed. Your esthetician will then apply warm wax to the areas of hair growth and remove hair from the root using strips. The process may be uncomfortable, but our estheticians use techniques to minimize pain. After the waxing is complete, your esthetician will apply a soothing lotion to help calm the skin. The appointment typically takes 30-45 minutes depending on the amount of hair growth. We recommend avoiding any activities that may cause sweating or irritation for 24 hours after your appointment.
  • How can I prepare for my Brazilian wax appointment?
To ensure a smooth and comfortable waxing experience, there are a few things you can do to prepare for your Brazilian wax appointment with Sexy Visage: 1. Make sure your hair is long enough: For best results, your hair should be at least ¼ inch long. If your hair is too short, the wax may not be able to grip it properly, which can result in incomplete hair removal. 2. Exfoliate the area: Gently exfoliate the area a day or two before your appointment to remove dead skin cells and help prevent ingrown hairs. 3. Avoid sun exposure: Try to avoid sun exposure or tanning beds for at least 24 hours before your appointment. Sunburned or tanned skin can be more sensitive and prone to irritation during waxing. 4. Don't use any lotions or oils: Avoid applying any lotions, oils, or other products to the area on the day of your appointment. These can interfere with the wax and make it less effective. By following these simple steps, you can help ensure a successful and comfortable Brazilian wax with Sexy Visage.
  • What should I do after my Brazilian wax with Sexy Visage?
After your Brazilian wax with Sexy Visage, there are a few things you can do to ensure that your skin stays smooth and healthy: 1. Avoid hot showers or baths for at least 24 hours after your wax. Hot water can irritate freshly waxed skin, so stick to lukewarm water until your skin has had time to heal. 2. Wear loose-fitting clothing. Tight clothes can rub against your skin and cause irritation, so opt for something comfortable and breathable. 3. Avoid exercise or swimming for at least 24 hours after your wax. Sweat and chlorine can be irritating to freshly waxed skin, so take a break from these activities for a day. 4. Exfoliate gently. After a few days, you can start gently exfoliating your skin to prevent ingrown hairs. Use a gentle scrub or exfoliating mitt and be sure to moisturize after. 5. Keep your skin moisturized. After your wax, your skin may be dry or flaky. Use a gentle, fragrance-free moisturizer to keep your skin soft and hydrated. By following these tips, you can help your skin stay smooth and healthy after your Brazilian wax with Sexy Visage.
