What's your WEDDING MAKEUP style?

The first question I ask all of my brides every time I book a wedding is...How would you descirbe your wedding?

Some brides are able to answer and some not so much. For some of us knowing our makeup style can be rather tricky. Especially, if you don't wear makeup on the everyday basis. I mean you have contour, blush, eyeshadow and lashes to think about. Let's not forget the setting of your wedding. You also have to think about lighting, the theme of the wedding and countless other things just to name a few.

By now you may be asking yourself..Mattie, how do I determine my style and how does it apply to my wedding?

Wedding Season

Your wedding date plays a big role in selecting your makeup for your wedding. I love using the various seasons as makeup inspiration (see below).

For example, you wouldn't want to wear a bright pink lipstick in the fall. Instead a bright pink lipstick would be rather suited for a spring or summer wedding. It's not to say you wouldn't be able to wear a pink lipstick in the fall, but a more muted pink...like mauve would be better suited for the occasion.

Theme of Wedding

Some brides like to do a wedding theme, myself included! It makes wedding planning so much easier when you have a theme for your wedding. Decorating, choosing your dress and even makeup will be a breeze with a theme.

Here are some theme ideas Aladdin, Old Hollywood, Fairytale(see below) or Beach Paradise.

Nighttime vs. Daytime

What time are you saying I do? What time is your reception?

If you are having a wedding that is at night..Then you definitely want to bump it up to create a dreamy magical look.

Maybe your wedding is in the daytime. Then you would want to go with somwthing that is glowy and breathable. No matter what time your wedding is, make sure your look compliments the time of the day.

By now you should have an idea of how the tone of your wedding will influence your makeup. Knowing the difference between wearing dramatic lashes with black lipstick durring the spring time and bright pink bubble gum eyeshadow during the fall..may sound good, but willl it look good? Sure this is your party and you can wear what you want to, but the ULTIMATE GOAL is for your beauty to transcend time.

Stay tuned for part ll.
